Fronting the investigation into his alleged criminal behaviour is Senior Internal Affairs Investigator Chloe Sabattini. A veteran investigator, Chloe is taken aback to discover that not only is Declan likeable, but his protestations of innocence are believable. Furthermore, despite her best efforts, she finds herself drawn to him. But the evidence can’t be ignored and Chloe vows to investigate the matter with all of the resources available to her. The more she delves, the more she’s convinced of Declan’s innocence. Someone is framing him. But who? And why? And what does a high ranking Government Minister have to do with it? An innocent man’s life hangs in the balance. Will she discover the truth before it’s too late? And will she be able to handle the fallout when she does? THE DECEPTION – Book Five of the Munro Family Series Ambitious newspaper journalist Savannah O’Neill will do anything for a story, even if it means pretending to be a prostitute in Sydney’s most exclusive brothel. She’s there on a tip-off that underage girls are being held illegally and kept compliant with illicit drugs. What’s more, unidentified bodies of young women have turned up in Sydney Harbour and at least one of them is linked to the brothel. Detective Will Rutledge has vowed to destroy the man he holds responsible for his brother’s suicide. Vince Maranoa is the kingpin of Sydney’s illegal drug industry: He’s also the owner of the city’s most exclusive brothel. Working undercover with the New South Wales Drug Enforcement Agency, Will is determined to put Maranoa behind bars. When Savannah and Will cross paths at the brothel, there’s an instant attraction, despite the fact she presumes he’s a cohort of the crime boss and Will assumes she’s a prostitute under Maranoa’s employ. With both of them determined to pursue their personal agendas to infiltrate the covert life of Maranoa, they will both be left gasping when the brothel’s secrets are finally revealed... THE NEGOTIATOR – Book Six of the Munro Family Series When ten-year-old Andy Warwick witnesses the murder/suicide of his sister and father, his world is torn apart. Twenty years later, despite his tragic childhood, Andy’s a highly respected police negotiator based in North Sydney. He’s living a comfortable life, but still suffers from guilt-ridden nightmares from his past and yearns for a family to replace the one he lost. Sixteen, pregnant and abandoned by those she loved, Cally Savage learned early to fend for herself, but raising a son on her own hasn’t come without a price. It’s a decade after Jack’s birth, but she’s struggling to make ends meet, despite taking on a second job as a cleaner at the North Sydney Police Station. On top of her financial woes, her house has recently been burgled and she’s terrified the perpetrator might return… In desperation Cally turns to the hot looking detective at the station and seeks Andy’s permission to place a “roommate wanted” advertisement on the noticeboard in the squad room. Attracted to Cally’s innocent beauty and intrigued by the vulnerability in her eyes, Andy offers to move in with her. The more he gets to know her, the more he wants to be part of her life. But first, he has to break through the barriers she’s erected around her heart… Just when things appear to be on track, the man who believed for more than ten years that his child had been aborted, discovers Cally’s deceit. Enraged, he vows not to give up until he’s found his son and punished the woman who lied to him…

A Collection of Stories That Demonstrate the Power and Impact of Sports
Author: Megan E. Miranda,Zac Logsdon
If Not for Athletics is a collection of stories about the many ways in which sports impacts our lives. From the excitement of big wins to the agony of gut-wrenching losses, some of the nation's top athletics administrators share the moments when they witnessed the true power of sports and how it can be a vehicle to promote healing, equality and positive change. "There are so many ways in which sports shapes and affects our lives or the lives of others. Rarely do we stop to consider its true impact. If Not for Athletics brings to light the full breadth of sports' influence and provides great insight into what we'd be missing out on if we did not have athletics. A book that will be enjoyed by every sports fan, coach or athlete but a must-read for anyone that works in sports." -Joe Castiglione, Director of Athletics at the University of Oklahoma "I loved reading If Not For Athletics. Zac did a great job capturing the special nature of athletics. So many think that athletics is "only" about games, but Zac shows us the many great life lessons that people learn from participation in athletics. The book is truly inspiring." -Mark Murphy, President of the Green Bay Packers "If Not for Athletics has significant meaning for those of us who have competed in individual and team sports. Those that did will read with understanding! For those that did not, they will enjoy and wish they had." -Barry Switzer, Former Head Football Coach for the Dallas Cowboys and the University of Oklahoma "If Not for Athletics is not a sports book; rather, it is a collection of entertaining and inspiring stories. Similar to ESPN's 30 for 30 series, If Not for Athletics isn't about the sporting event - it's about the people, the traditions, the cultures, the communities. It's authentic." -Rick Hart, Director of Athletics at SMU "If Not for Athletics is tremendous at sharing the true life of everyday events working in the profession of Intercollegiate Athletics. This should be a must read for anyone interested in pursuing our profession. It brings out passionate emotions of the day to day experiences you totally can relate to while shaping the lives of our student -athletes educational bond with their University, community, and alumni." -Kathy Beauregard, Director of Athletics at Western Michigan University "Often athletics seems to be just about winning and losing, but there is another side to athletics which is often overlooked - the human dimension. It is this dimension which transcends time, championships, momentary elation or dejection. Athletics teaches many lessons which are transformative and which stay with an athlete for a lifetime. If Not For Athletics contains many stories which exemplify the uplifting influence of athletics." -Tom Osborne, Former U.S. Senator and Head Football Coach/Athletic Director at the University of Nebraska
The African American influence on popular culture is among the most sweeping and lasting this country has seen. Despite a history of institutionalized racism, black artists, entertainers, and entrepreneurs have had enormous impact on American popular culture. Pioneers such as Oscar Michaeux, Paul Robeson, Satchel Paige, Josh Gibson, Langston Hughes, Bill Bojangles Robinson, and Bessie Smith paved the way for Jackie Robinson, Nina Simone, James Baldwin, Bill Russell, Muhammad Ali, Sidney Poitier, and Bill Cosby, who in turn opened the door for Spike Lee, Dave Chappelle, Dr. Dre, Jay-Z, Tiger Woods, and Michael Jordan. Today, hip hop is the most powerful element of youth culture; white teenagers outnumber blacks as purchasers of rap music; black-themed movies are regularly successful at the box office, and black writers have been anthologized and canonized right alongside white ones. Though there are still many more miles to travel and much to overcome, this three-volume set considers the multifaceted influence of African Americans on popular culture, and sheds new light on the ways in which African American culture has come to be a fundamental and lasting part of America itself. To articulate the momentous impact African American popular culture has had upon the fabric of American society, these three volumes provide analyses from academics and experts across the country. They provide the most reliable, accurate, up-to-date, and comprehensive treatment of key topics, works, and themes in African American popular culture for a new generation of readers. The scope of the project is vast, including: popular historical movements like the Harlem Renaissance; the legacy of African American comedy; African Americans and the Olympics; African Americans and rock 'n roll; more contemporary articulations such as hip hop culture and black urban cinema; and much more. One goal of the project is to recuperate histories that have been perhaps forgotten or obscured to mainstream audiences and to demonstrate how African Americans are not only integral to American culture, but how they have always been purveyors of popular culture.
